Local attractions include The Forbidden Corner (17 miles), Castle Bolton (16 miles), Barnard Castle (12 miles) and the pretty village of Middleham (15 miles), home to the ruined castle of Richard III. Heading south of the Dales you will find the glorious Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (17.5 miles), while to the north (22 miles) you can discover the dramatic North Pennines.
